# Cash, ranks, and the market

## Your Road to Hell

You **build an empire**: run businesses, do jobs, trade with others, and reinvest. **Earn** **$CRIME**, **spend** it on upgrades, gear, property, and riskier plays.

## Getting Started

You can start by buying seeds with **SOL**, and starting a small drug farm. You can also buy $CRIME in public Solana marketplaces and use it to directly buy equipment / items, to accelerate your start. **Optional purchases** can speed things up or unlock premium-style progression—exact offers can change over time.

## $CRIME — your main money

Almost everything in the economy runs on **$CRIME**.

The full **on-chain** version of the token will arrive later; in the meantime the game tracks your balance and uses **$CRIME** for prices, rewards, and fees inside **CrimCity**.

## Black market — players selling to players

The **black market** is where you **list and buy** things from **other players** (for example drugs and weapons). The house takes a **small fee** on trades so the market stays maintained.

## Leaderboards

**Crime points** feed **leaderboards** so you can see how you stack up. Climb by playing smart and staying active—not every score needs to be a loud heist.

Climbing higher in the rankings will earn you rewards, but will also put a target on your back. Nobody plays fair in **CrimCity**.

When you’re ready to move **$CRIME** out of the game on an approved withdrawal, read [**Cashing out**](/help/money-and-trade/withdrawal.md).
